Prosthesis Teeth

Prosthesis

The prosthesis method is preferred in order to enable a more functional use of an area that is missing or does not fulfill its function in our body. In dentistry, prosthesis is applied when it is too late for treatment in patients with tooth loss or gum disease. Patients are affected by tooth loss in different ways, depending on which tooth or teeth are missing and their general health status. If there are only a few missing teeth, a large gap occurs in the mouth and the dimensions of the discomfort increase. Uncompensated tooth loss can lead to gum disease, make brushing and oral care more difficult, and lead to new ailments. In general, tooth and bone loss occurs as a result of not treating gum diseases. In the prosthesis, the lost oral health is restored. For this purpose, the lost lip, cheek support, speech function, chewing function and aesthetic appearance are regained. Psychological support is provided to individuals who have to live with missing or ruined teeth and have forgotten to laugh. It is aimed to increase the quality of life of people with prostheses. Our clinic provides you with the appropriate opportunities in terms of aesthetics and health, and gives you healthy teeth.

What are the Prosthesis Types?

Fixed Prostheses: It is a type of bonded prosthesis like crown-bridge. Since they are in a fixed form, they can be removed by the dentist.

Removable Dentures: This type of prosthesis is used when all teeth are lost. It is generally preferred in elderly patients. Patients can remove and wear this type of prosthesis themselves.

Total Dentures: Again, it is one of the preferred types of prosthesis when patients lose all their teeth.

Partial Dentures: It is used in case of loss of a few of the teeth. This type of prosthetic teeth can be fixed to the patient’s mouth with materials such as hooks and nails.

Precision Prostheses: It is an appearance-oriented prosthesis application. It is preferred in partial tooth deficiencies.

Implant Style Prostheses: These are also divided into two as fixed and mobile. Again, constants are preferred when there is only one or more missing teeth. The mobile ones are used in patients who have lost all their teeth. It can also be used for support in cases where the bones are insufficient.
